Rafizi lodges report against Jho Low, urges public to do the same

Pandan MP Rafizi Ramli has lodged a police report against Penang-born tycoon Jho Low over his alleged involvement in the 1MDB scandal.
This is the first in a series of reports the PKR lawmaker plans to lodge against 1MDB's administration and those linked to the firm's mismanagement.
The report against Low is over his role as special adviser in 1MDB's predecessor, the Terengganu Investment Authority (TIA).
During Low's time with TIA, the firm had issued a RM5 billion Islamic bond guaranteed by the government, against the wishes of its board of directors.
Rafizi hopes members of the public will join him in lodging reports against Low, based on a template which he will post on Facebook.
"I urge as many people as possible to lodge the same police report nationwide," he told reporters outside the Dang Wangi district police headquarters today.
He said those who lodged reports can then update him online on the details of their reports so he can keep track of developments regarding the case.
Last Thursday, Rafizi announced that he would be placing 1MDB executives, including current boss Arul Kanda Kandasamy, former CEO Shahrol Azral Halmi, and the board of directors on a citizens' wanted list.
This is because, based on the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) report on 1MDB, they could be charged with several criminal offences including obstruction of justice.
Several foreign authorities, including the United States, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Singapore and Hong Kong, are currently investigating allegations linked to Najib and 1MDB.
Inspector-general of police Khalid Abu Bakar has also confirmed that the police have formed a special team to investigate the findings of the PAC report. -Mkini
